While planning my sons 4th birthday I knew I would have to create a kit to match the theme of the party. All he wanted for his birthday was a Birthday Cake, with cars, trucks a road and a cherry on the top. Putting together a party full of engines and wheels was almost as fun as designing this kit! Start Your Engines is full of Garbage Trucks, Excavators, Race Cars and more. And since my oldest is just about to get his drivers license I threw in lots of grey and black grungy elements for those teen style layouts! Now that Christmas has passed we all should have some time to scrapbook all of the Christmas pictures! Yeah! Of course, Wendy is a traditionalist when it comes to Christmas and she loves the red, green and sparkle of it all! So she set out to make a kit that encompassed all of that and then some. Let me introduce you to In The Spirit which is available at SNP for 30% off this week!

New Release: Jack Frost & Crystal

Wendy Tunison Designs has 3 new kits and a bundle available today! Whoot!

I don't know about you but I can never find a planner that fills my needs. I search high and low online and in stores but I can never find the perfect planner that works perfectly for me. About 4 years ago Wendy started making her own at home. She simply creates the pages and prints them out. In the past she's had them spiral bound with laminated covers, used a bind-it-all to bind it with chipboard covers and most recently (and happily) a small 3 ring binder that she can easily add to and take pages out of. She loves it! She's added a few page protectors to hold bills, receipts, letters from school and tax items. It's totally customizable and so completely useable! So she thought she'd offer you the same option. She created this planner with her Simplicity kit so that it was easily versatile enough to add more ellies if you like for a splash of color yet easy on the printer ink!

This is a set of 5.5x8.5" customizable sheets. She's added all of the ellies and spaces for you. All you need to do is customize it for your own needs. If you look below you'll see a few ways she thought of to make this perfect for capturing a year of your life. A few of the ideas are things she'll keep on her computer and then have printed into a book at the end of the year. She thinks it will be a wonderful capture of her family and she can't wait to use this in 2012. She thinks it will be perfect for P365 too!

She has made each of the pages in left and right facing so that you can easily put them in any order you'd like as well.

Here are a couple of examples of how she customized hers. She'll be using this as her planner...

And then she thought it would be fun to capture a year of her family by asking a question each day...

Or taking a photo each day with a different theme...

She has also created a set of winter kits called Jack Frost & Crystal. You can buy them separately or together as a bundle.

Wendy Tunison kind of had this fun idea that she wanted to create a black and white kit with 1 pop of color. But then she had issues. Serious issues! LOL! She couldn't decide which color she wanted to pop with it. So she started with one and then she decided that maybe she wanted two. Then the kit was HUGE! So she decided to stick with her original idea of a black & white kit. And she decided to make some add ons in different colors to go with it! This week she only made two colors to go with it but she has big plans to make more colorful add ons in the future so that you'll have some serious variety to play with! Are you ready to see it? It's huge! There are 108 ellies (no repeats and no recolors as always!) and 15 papers in this kit! It's awesome!

She also made a set of tags to go with it so that you could use them to create titles, dates and everything in between! Thanks to Kandi (on our CT), you get 31 numbers too so that you can use it for P365 or P52! Whoot!

Isn't that exciting?! I know I'm excited and after playing with these kits, I'm even more excited about them! I can't wait for her to make more colors to go with them! But for now, here's two of the colorful add ons for this kit.

A Day Late.. but "Merry" just the same

Oh, the joys of life.... I'm not going to bore you with the tiny details of mine. I will say I have a new neighbor and I wish I didn't. My internet has been out since last Friday. I'll leave you to imagine how the internet and my new downstairs neighbor connect. Maybe I should take an internet break for a week every month. This is two months straight now that I have and I managed to get ten times the work done on both those weeks.

New Release: Fresh New Beginning

I have a new kit releasing today at Scraps N Pieces. It is a kit that my Creative Team requested. You see, I have 2 Moms on my team who both just had their 2nd baby girls within the last month. I made this for them. My amazing creative team helped me with everything from deciding on the color scheme to what elements I should include. The first request was for neutral colors, not the traditional pink and blue. I did include some pink to be able to girly up the pages a bit if you wanted to. I thought this idea was perfect because we took the old fashioned route ourselves and heard "It's a girl" in the delivery room. Our colors started out with green, yellow and brown... which I suppose are the traditional neutral colors. So, here it is... Fresh New Beginning.

I have totally overwhelmed myself this month. I took on the SEC project, generic football kit, STS blog train and Scapping Survivor before I knew I was going to be opening a store. LOL... I have a list of things to do a mile long. I cannot wait to catch up! Anyway, here is another thing off my list of "Things To Do". This is the last SEC kit... for now anyway, if the rumors are true.. I'll need to make 2 more next year.

The generic football kit is coming. Just as soon as I catch my breath I will get it done. It WILL be done before football season is over. I hope during October but I can't promise. It might be November. I just want you to know I have not forgotten.

I would show you my Week 2 Scrapping Survivor Layout but the kit is coming soon and I don't want to spoil the surprise... Let's hope I make it through this week's voting...

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you had a great week. Mine has been so busy: I worked on getting my new store up and going, designing my next new kit, helping with the plans for Scraps N Pieces Grand Opening (October 1st - you should come by it's going to be so much fun!), Scrappin Survivor started this week, building up my Creative Team, made homemade vegetable beef soup, cleaning house, laundry, and raising Elizabeth. Whew! I am loving life! Busy but happy.

You football fans stay tuned. South Carolina, Vandy and the generic kit are all coming.

I am pleased to announce that I am opening a store! It is going to be at Scraps N Pieces. SNP is a new forum and the grand opening is going to be the first of October. The forums and store are up and going. It's exciting to be part of something brand new. As a new designer I am pretty busy getting things going. One of the things that I need to set up is a Creative Team. Here are some details:

Requirements:

Create 1-2 layouts per kit (minimum 1 kit per month)

Post your layouts at Scraps N Pieces (SNP) and at least 2 other galleries.

Advertise my designs on your blog

Be active in the SNP forums

Participate in the CT forums at SNP

If Only I Knew Then What I Know Now

When I first started digi scrapping, I noticed little things on the kits I found. PU, CU, S4H, S4O, CU4CU... I know what these things mean now. When I started, I did not have a clue. I felt foolish asking, to be honest. Everyone else seemed to know what they meant. I did some research and found out some of the easy ones quickly. There are some obscure ones that took me months to understand. Today I ran across this chart at the Scrappin Hens blog. Oh what I would have done to have this chart back then. I wanted to share in case anyone felt they way I did. It has some great explainations. Here is your link:

I hope everyone had a great Labor Day Weekend!

I was asked for a Mississippi kit. Only they didn't specify which Mississippi. So, I am simply going to make both. I am in the middle of another kit that I am going to finish first. (Not a freebie) Then I'll get to them. I just wanted you to know they are coming.

I am slowed down a bit because I've come down with the flu or something. I'm just now coming down with it: achy, fever, stopped up head, sore throat.... you know how it goes.

Football kits reminder

Just a little reminder because I've had a few requests... I am limiting these football kits to the Southeastern Conference (College) football only. If I had the time/energy I'd make as many as I had requests, but unfortunately I simply don't. I was planning a "generic" football kit for next year that would work with all the kits I have made/or are making. I will go ahead and make it this year by the end of football season. I hope this will help those that would love a football kit for their team - only their team isn't in the SEC or not a college team at all. Please understand that I hate diappointing anyone, but I have to set a limit realistically.

It's time for Football!

Anyone else excited to watch some football? I've never been a big fan of professional football; but I have loved college ball for as long as I can remember. It's probably because I am from Alabama.

It seems to me that growing up in Alabama, you have to choose your team by the time you are in school. You better not change your mind either, or you will never live it down. Somehow, my dad managed to raise himself two Auburn fan daughters. At least he has an Alabama fan son to help him cheer on his team.

The games start next Saturday. I am ready to cheer my team on to victory. I'd be all for another National Championship. But even if my team doesn't win it, I sure hope it stays in the SEC.

For those Auburn fan Digital Scrappers... I have a feebie kit for you. I made it last year and added to it this year. I will probably add something to it every year. Feel free to check back next year for the updated version. Here you go:

What have I let myself in for?

I debated this for a couple of days. Do I have time? Do I really want to do this? What I realized is what was holding me back was fear. I don't even know what I was afraid of, but fear was the culprit.

Safe and Sound Blog Train

This months Stuff to Scrap's blog train is all about Childhood Safety. My portion of the train is focused on window blind safety. It isn't only window "blinds" but all window coverings with cords. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, 120 children have strangled on widow cord blinds in the U.S. since 1999. This equals one child every month. There were also 113 serious injuries. This isn't a concern for babies but children of all ages. Many people don't realize but there was a recall of ALL Roman shades and roll up blinds December 2009 because they are unsafe for children. If your window coverings have a cord... anywhere... they are not safe. There are safe options out there for familes. Please educate yourself for the safety of your children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews, neighbors and friends. There is nothing worse than the loss of a child. Autumn Blessings

We are living in hard times at the moment. The economy is the worst I have ever known it. I haven't witnessed any improvement, regardless of what is said. On a personal front, we have had a recurring health issue since January. I am so sleep deprived that I KNOW I am a royal grump. But, I am BLESSED.

I have a beautiful daughter who is the light of my life; she is healthy and happy. We have a roof over our heads and food on our plates. We are growing closer together all the time. We are a happy family.
